Before 1947 Pakistan was a part of the sub-continent. The Muslims ruled over the sub-continent for about a thousand year. In the was of independence 1875 the Muslims were defeated by the British. Then the British came into power in the subcontinent. They were annoyed with the Muslims. They treated the Muslims badly. They were very cruel.
At that time there were two major nations in the sub-continent the Hindus and the Muslims. They were completely two different nations. They had different customs-religions and cultures. The Hindus were in majority and the Muslims were in minority. Both the Hindus and the British were enemies of the Muslims The conditions of the Muslims were very poor.
In these circumstances the Muslims of the sub-continent decided to get freedom from the British and the Hindus. They launced a pure Muslim party THE ALL INDIA MUSLIM LEAGUE in 1906. It started struggle for the freedom of Muslims under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. Allama Iqbal gave the idea of a separate homeland where the Muslims of the sub-continenet can live their life according to Islam.
Both Hindus and the British opposed the idea of Pakistan. They declared it as lunatic. At last Muslim League passed PAKISTAN RESOLUTION on 23rd March 1940 under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. this resolution was passed at Minto Park known as Iqbal Park Lahore now.
After a long and hard struggle of the Muslims the British had to accept the demant of the Muslims for a separate homeland. At last Pakistan emerged on the map of the world on 14th August 1947. It was a great change in the world. Quaid-e-Azam became its first Governor-General. Liaqat Ali Khan was the first Prime Minister of Pakistan.
We celebrated Independence Day on the 14th August every year with regard and respect. People decorate their houses streets markets and shops with lights. They also hoist flags on the roofs. We have great love for out beloved country. Sweets are distributed all over the country. We lived here with love and peace. We pray for the development of Pakistan. We should work hard for its bright future. May Allah Keep Pakistan forever! Ameen.
